If you think that this is a review totally about food, I'm so sorry to disappoint you.

Hehs.

1st-3rd March was my first ever job in F&B.

Since it was a temp 3 day I decided to just try even though I didn't like the thought about it.

So! Here it goes:

It was a nerve wrecking day 1. Since work started at 6, I spent most of my afternoon praying hard that I wouldn't break anything or get scolded by customers and stuff. HAHA

Since I've never heard of Skinny Pizza prior to working there, I was hoping it would not be too busy too :P

But of course I was wrong.

IT WAS MAD ASS BUSY!

I mean how can a small shop with 32 tables be THIS busy?! Mind blown.

But big thanks to May who mentored me. May and don really watched my back on day 1 clearing all the possible mess I could have created.

Managers were nice too, no matter how busy it was they would only gently remind me to do certain stuff unlike my previous manager who shouted across the shop asking me to serve when the customer is like pretty much close to her. Pfft..

Its extremely tiring during peak periods I swear!

I salute you guys for being in this industry. Day 1 and I was suffering from back ache after doing all the saikang.

Literally all I did was clean and clear tables, dry utensils and plates, bring cups and plates across the restaurant.

It was so busy that I was engrossed working all the time that when Don took the plates out for me to dry he gave me a shock. I literally jumped! Like feet off the ground. Thank God nothing dropped.

Day 2 was slightly better. Lunch was much better compared to Day 1's dinner period. YAY!

Still remember how my manager came over to me and complained "WALAO! 那个肥妞拿我的table for 4! 我很想去打她. eh 去打她，说manager叫我打你."

(direct translate: that fat lady took my table for 4, I wanna hit her. Eh, go over and hit her say my manager ask me hit you)

HAHA! I totally went wtf even though I knew he was kidding.

Also cause we had a lot of time on hand, this manager cannot maintain.

He asked me why I'm only working 3 days and how can I bear to leave my boyfriend, Don here.

So Don told him that when I'm there he needs to take care of me, when I'm not he can work better.

Hello guys, I'm not THAT burden please.

But at least I got to do billing that day.

Yay for bill folder being WAY lighter than those baskets of utensils and cups and stack of plates!

OH! I GOT TO TRY SKINNY PIZZA FOR THE FIRST TIME FOR SUPPER!

YAYYYY! THANKS CHEFS!! LOVE YOU GUYS FOR THAT! *hearts*

I never expected it to be THAT good honestly cause the veggie on top just turns me off.

but when you eat the pizza itself its a totally different thing.

the squid ink pizza is a MUST TRY. Honest opinion.

Even though the pizza is black and the sauce is black but its HELLA GOOD!

Despite all the unwillingness to work since Day 0, when day 3 came I was still unwilling.

Reason being because I guess I will kind of miss them.

All the small randomness, don's random singing and walking in and out of the kitchen.

OH THE SMELL IN THE KITCHEN, SOO GOOD (':

Sadly May wasn't working.

Got extended for another 2h of work and I actually spent 1.5h at the van just cutting and squeezing oranges.

Haha, I became an overtime genius at that. I can squeeze the orange until the skin of the orange disappeared into the machine. GENIUS RIGHT?!

Finally when it was time to leave, I kind of felt sad even though I was mad happy that I didn't need to clear and clean and carry anymore.

Chefs were so hilarious (':

I kind of regret not taking a photo with Don/May, sighs.

In all, I really thank all of you for taking care of me during this 3 days of work.

Thanks for teaching me quite a bit, bearing with the blur me, that tinge of entertainment as well as encouragement.

Till I see you guys again.

Continue being such an awesome service crew and chefs. Not forgetting that cleaning auntie ^^

The sudden show of love for Disney portraying in photos! Haha YAY!!

So you may ask.. Why the sudden love?

The reason of the sudden love is caused by the excitement of this upcoming movie that is releasing on 7th March: Oz the Great and Powerful!
I'm sure you've heard of the book or film "The Wizard of Oz" which is the inspiration for this upcoming film.
I've always been a huge fan of Disney movies and this is not an exception.

The movie is about this small-time magician

that found himself hurled into the amazing Land of Oz.

Along his journey, he met 3 witches

as well as got to befriend other unlikely characters such as Finley, the wise winged monkey (which I find really cute looking) and the brave but brittle China Doll.

This journey of his somehow transformed him into the great and powerful wizard from the small time magician he was - and just maybe into a better man as well.

If you have not watch the trailer, DO WATCH IT.. LIKE NOW!!!

One of the things that excites me the most about the movie is actually the graphics.

I've always love watching shows with background graphics of a "fairytale" not much idea why.

My main interest would actually be the main character - how this journey of his changed him. What happened and how that changed him?

He had doubts about himself when there was pressure on him (when he had to defeat the wicked witch and people were counting on him as a wizard and he doubted his skills), supporting factors didn't seem to go his way (the "soldiers" were characters stacked up and couldn't fight in a battle), there might have been some support but the utmost outcome still relied on himself.

Which is what I think many of us can relate to.

Probably the reason why i'm looking forward to the movie.

Honestly I think that this should be a movie worth catching so..

Is it okay for Christians to get tattoos?

Like some might have known, I've been mentioning recently about getting a tattoo and stuff.

I really really am thinking about tattoo-ing the word faith along my hairline.

The thing that has been holding me back the most is this:

The controversial topic about whether it is okay or not for a Christian to get a tattoo.

Whoever that has been a Christian for a long time or someone of authority in church would definitely discourage the act of getting a tattoo by quoting what the bible says and how it's considered to be bad.

While others would just state their perception about how (in Singapore context especially) tattoos are automatically connected with what we commonly know as Ah Beng Ah Lian.

I'm a Christian myself and this is the exact question I've been asking around as well as myself.

Skipping all the standard questions about possible regrets, if it'll affect your future work, etc.

One of the common questions I was asked was this

- What do you want to tattoo and what is the reason behind it? How meaningful is it to you?

I guess this is pretty much the main point as well right? If this is something that you cannot answer or find hard to explain then my opinion would be to just drop the idea.

What made me think the most was what my dad asked:

- If you are doing it as some form of reminder for yourself, there are many other ways of doing so. Why tattoo?

To be honest that was what made me shut up and think.

What the bible says:

Leviticus 19:28 says "You shall not make any cuts in your body for the dead, nor make any tattoo marks on yourselves: I am the Lord"

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says "Do you not know that your body are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought with a price. Therefore honour God with your bodies."

This is the verse I found when I was researching about this topic.

Some might then ask, it is already stated so clearly in the bible, what are you still considering then?

When I came across that verse, my cell sister and I just decided to continue reading the verses before and after it. (It was also mentioned in an article we came across).

In the whole chapter of Leviticus 19 it stated a whole long list of laws that God gave in the old testament.

After reading through, I can clearly understand most of the laws that were stated but just simply couldn't comprehend some such as:

- verse 26: about how we shouldn't eat anything that still has blood.

This made me think "does that mean we can't have beef medium rare or cockles?"

-verse 27: about not shaving the sides of your head and harming the edges of your beard.

The thought that came was "guys can't have Mohawk or like shave patterns on their sides? or guys can't shave those facial hair of theirs?"

I just don't really understand, does that mean that all Christian guys including Pastors, Cell leaders, etc are sinning against the Lord by shaving their facial hair often to keep themselves looking clean? Does that mean that every time I eat my favourite food I'm sinning and going against His law?

Then if you can tell me "these are laws of the old testament, therefore its an exception" then my question again would be "verse 28 about tattoo is in the old testament too, why is it not an exception then?"

Please get this straight, I'm not saying that we should use that as a defence for ourselves to get a tattoo.

As a Christian I cannot deny what was said in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 that our body should honour him cause he paid a price for us.

I believe we still can honour God whether or not we have tattoos and what not because those are not deciding factors of our faith.

If you ask me the reason why I want to do this is because although I was born in a Christian family, my faith in Christ has been a roller-coaster. Yes, barely 18 years into my life and there has been many ups and downs in my walk with God.

I want it to be a reminder for myself that God has done many miracles in my life.

Brushing death several times, seeing how my parents prayed in faith for my recovery.

Experiencing his miracle works on me, being that living testimony of his.

All this was not possible if I didn't have faith in Him.

I didn't want to forget any of this, I didn't want to have any chance for me to drift away from Him again.

I want to remember all my life that He is the one I can have faith in even if I lose faith in everything else.

At the same time, I want others around me to know that faith is believing in what they can not see but all they need is faith as small as a mustard seed and they will see a difference in their lives like how I saw it in mine.
